Ceremonial Turnover of RuRu Mushroom Fruiting Bag Compactor

The Research Innovation Center for Metals and Engineering (RICME), headed by Engr. Kevin Mark Bejerano, successfully held the Ceremonial Turnover of the Fruiting Bag Compactor to RuRu Mushrooms, owned by Ms. Rubylyzle A. Alrayes at the RICME Building, Western Mindanao State University, Normal Road, Baliwasan, Zamboanga City.
 
RuRu Mushrooms is a local enterprise engaged in mushroom cultivation and value-adding processes. Its owner, Ms. Rubylyzle A. Alrayes, is also an active incubatee under the Acceleration Program of the WMSU-Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (ATBI), where she receives support in scaling and improving her agribusiness operations.
 
This turnover initiative was made possible through the efforts and technical expertise of Engr. Arvic S. Francisco and Engr. Janueber J. Garcia, who spearheaded the development of the compactor.
 
The ceremony began with welcoming remarks from Engr. Francisco, who thanked Ms. Alrayes for her trust and support. This was followed by a message from Dr. Ulmen Riff L. Circulado, Dean of the College of Engineering, who commended the RICME team and emphasized the importance of supporting agricultural entrepreneurs.
 
Engr. Kevin Bejerano also delivered a message, acknowledging the Dean’s continued support. Ms. Alrayes expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to receive the technology and the support extended to her enterprise.
 
Concluding the program, Engr. Janueber J. Garcia gave the closing remarks, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration and partnership in fostering meaningful innovation for the agricultural sector.
 
This milestone event was made possible with the support of Western Mindanao State University, led by Dr. Ma. Carla A. Ochotorena, University President, and Dr. Joel G. Fernando, Vice President for Research, Extension Services, and External Linkages.
RICME and the College of Engineering also extend their sincere appreciation to the Department of Science and Technology – Region IX, especially Regional Director Martin Wee and Assistant Regional Director Ricardo J. Apolinario III, whose unwavering support was key to the realization of this endeavor, and assistance to WMSU’s ongoing innovation and extension efforts.
