IIncubatee Business Monitoring: Empowering Entrepreneurs Through Expert Guidance

The Incubatee Business Monitoring was successfully conducted over two days, January 16 and 17, 2025, to assess and provide expert guidance to various incubatees in their respective business ventures. Accompanied by ATBI Technology experts, the monitoring visits aimed to deliver strategic recommendations tailored to each business owner’s specific needs, fostering growth and sustainability in their enterprises.

Day 1: Enhancing Oyster Mushroom Production

On the first day, the team visited Mr. Shaick Ismurajid, an entrepreneur engaged in oyster mushroom production. During the visit, Ms. Tilus, an expert in oyster mushroom cultivation, provided Mr. Ismurajid with comprehensive guidance on preparing mushroom substrate bags meticulously to optimize fungal yield and prevent contamination. She emphasized the importance of maintaining proper mixture ratios for sustainable production. Additionally, she underscored the necessity of stringent environmental controls, particularly with regard to humidity and sterility, to ensure consistent and healthy mushroom growth.

Day 2: Strengthening Poultry Farming and Urban Gardening

The second day commenced with a visit to Mrs. Alicia Amelia V. dela Cruz, a dedicated specialist in ZamPen Native Chicken Production. Ms. Jalon, an expert in poultry farming, conducted an in-depth discussion on the structural integrity and design of poultry housing to mitigate disease risks and enhance animal welfare. She also provided strategic recommendations on feed formulation, highlighting the need to balance nutritional adequacy while maintaining cost efficiency. Furthermore, Ms. Jalon encouraged the integration of sustainable, locally sourced feed alternatives to reduce dependency on commercial feeds, thereby lowering production costs.

Later that day, the team proceeded to Mr. Abdul Aziz B. Kunting’s urban gardening production site. Mrs. Garan, an expert in urban gardening, shared her insights on optimizing spatial configuration through precise plotting methodologies to maximize plant health and yield. She elaborated on soil enrichment strategies, incorporating both organic and synthetic amendments to maintain soil fertility in the long term. Additionally, she provided expert advice on strategic crop placement to enhance plant compatibility and overall productivity through synergistic interactions.

Following the visits, several action items were outlined to ensure the implementation of the recommendations provided. Incubatees were tasked with applying expert guidance and documenting their progress for future assessment. Periodic follow-up evaluations were scheduled to monitor the efficacy of the applied strategies. Furthermore, additional capacity-building sessions would be arranged based on the evolving needs of the incubatees.

The monitoring concluded with a consensus that subsequent engagements would focus on empirically evaluating the effectiveness of the implemented methodologies while addressing any persisting operational challenges. With expert guidance and continuous support, the incubatees are poised to enhance their business ventures and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient agricultural sector.
