WMSU-ATBI visits a Potential Incubatee for ZamPen Native Chicken Production
The WMSU ATBI team together with the Technology Expert visited the farm of a potential incubatee who is raising ZamPen Native Chicken. The Zampen Native Chicken Production technology is one of the flagship technologies of the University developed through extensive research which is funded by the DOST-PCAARRD. Potential intervention from the ATBI will be the technology mentoring, farm management and marketing assistance.
The aim of the initial site visit is to assess readiness of the farmer to adopt the technology. This includes assessment of the facilities and zoning, among others. According to the farmer, they began breeding chickens four months ago and plans to keep producing more ZamPen Chicken. They also discuss how they maintain and manage their farm. Soon, WMSU-ATBI will aid them in growing and improving their operations, and turning it into a business venture.
