RAISE Program’s Quarterly Accomplishments and Strategic Planning Illuminate Path Forward in Western Mindanao

The Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program in Western Mindanao conducted a comprehensive session on Quarterly Accomplishments Monitoring and Strategic Planning on December 19, 2023, at RDEC Conference Room, Research Bldg., WMSU, Zamboanga City. This event marked a pivotal moment for the program, which is dedicated to enhancing system innovations and technology transfer in the agri-aqua sectors. The program includes the following projects: 1) Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM); 2) Agri-business Hub (ABH); 3) Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (ATBI); and Knowledge Management (KM) Hub.

The Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), the leading institution for the RAISE program, proudly showcased the quarterly accomplishments of its four component projects. These projects, each addressing key areas of regional development and collaboration. Additionally, the event shone a light on the success of the four subcomponent projects from the different Consortium Member Institutions (CMI), namely J.H. Cerilles State College (JHCSC), Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU), Philippine Rubber Research Institute (PRRI), and Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST). Each CMI presented their achievements, illustrating the collective effort and synergy that are the hallmarks of the RAISE Program. The updates from the CMIs not only highlighted their individual progress but also underscored the importance of collaboration in achieving common goals.

A critical aspect of the session was the revision of the CMI 2024 Schedule of Activities. This revision process was approached with a strategic mindset, considering the insights gained from the quarter’s accomplishments and challenges. The updated timeline aims to optimize the program’s workflow and ensure that each project component is on track to meet its milestones.

In a move to safeguard the intellectual property included in the RAISE program, the CMIs presented plans for IP protection applications of the various matured technologies. These presentations underscored the program’s commitment to protecting the innovative work of the technology generators and solidifying the commercial potential of the technologies developed.

The event also featured an orientation on the real-time monitoring system database. This system is a cornerstone of the RAISE Program’s commitment to transparency and accountability. By providing a platform for continuous monitoring, the program ensures that all stakeholders have access to up-to-date information on project progress and can make data-driven decisions.

Lastly, the session served as a reminder to all participants of the importance of delivering the expected outputs of the project. This call to action was a resonant conclusion to the event, reinforcing the shared responsibility of each team member to contribute to the program’s success.

As the RAISE Program in Western Mindanao continues to evolve and expand its impact, the Quarterly Accomplishments Monitoring and Strategic Planning session stands as a testament to the program’s dynamic approach to attain its goals and objectives. With a clear vision and a strategic plan in place, the program is well-positioned to continue making strides in innovation and contributing to the region’s growth and prosperity.
