RAISE WMSU-ATBI Empowers Zambo Tropical Staff Through 5S, GMP, and Food Safety Training

Zamboanga City – May 19, 2025 — In a continued effort to strengthen local food enterprises and promote industry best practices, RAISE WMSU-ATBI successfully conducted a comprehensive training on 5S Methodology, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Food Safety for the dedicated staff of Zambo Tropical.
Held at the OLPP Function Room on Saavedra Street, Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City, the training brought together over 35 participants who were committed to enhancing their operational efficiency and ensuring safe, high-quality food production standards.

The training featured two esteemed faculty members from the Western Mindanao State University – College of Agriculture. Mr. Bryan Ber S. Bondoc led the first session with an insightful discussion on 5S workplace organization methods and GMP protocols, emphasizing the value of discipline, cleanliness, and structure in daily operations.

The afternoon session was delivered by Asso. Prof. Norqueen T. Dumadadug, who provided an in-depth lecture on Food Safety, underscoring the critical importance of hygiene, hazard prevention, and regulatory compliance in food handling and production.

This initiative is part of RAISE WMSU-ATBI’s mission to empower agri-aqua enterprises in Western Mindanao through targeted training and knowledge-sharing, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability in the industry.
