SKSU and WMSU ATBI conducts a Promotional Activity Training cum Tech. Spinoff Commercialization Training
SKSU&WMSU-ATBI recently conducted a 2-day training session on Halal-Compliant Goat Production and Zampen Native Chicken Production at WMSU Training Center, Baliwasan Zamboanga City. The program was designed to equip potential incubatee or local farmers with the knowledge and skills needed to develop successful Goat and ZNC production enterprises.
On the 1st day, SKSU’s resource speaker Mr. Jomar Maltu covered a wide range of goat production topics, including the proper housing for goat, herd management, feed and nutrition, and disease control. One of the highlights of the program was the session on constructing a Business Model. To help participants put these concepts into practice, SKSU conducted a business planning exercise, where they worked with participants to develop a comprehensive business model canvass for a Goat or ZNC production. This exercise allowed participants to apply the concepts they had learned and receive feedback from their peers and program facilitators.
The next day, Ms. Milyn C. Leghid, Project Leader of UPV-ATBI began the morning session with an overview of technology spin-off and commercialization via Google Meet, discussing the benefits of developing innovative products and technologies. She also discussed the importance of market research and product validation. Later on, WMSU-ATBI ZNC Tech. Expert Mr. Mario Garan and Mr. Leonilo Abella discussed the basics of Zampen Native Chicken Production, including breed selection, housing, and feeding. Mr. Abella also emphasized the importance of proper nutrition and disease management for ensuring healthy and productive birds.
WMSU-SKSU-UPV-ATBI training program was a great success. Participants left with a deeper understanding of the featured technology production and the tools they need to develop successful farming enterprises. It’s inspiring to see how these training programs can help farmers and entrepreneurs build sustainable livelihoods while also promoting environmental stewardship. We look forward to continuing to support farmers in their journey towards success.
