The Western Mindanao State University (WMSU), thru Research Development Evaluation Center (RDEC) and its attached projects, Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (ATBI) and Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM), in collaboration with DOST-Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI), and with the generous support of DOST-Region 9, held a 4-day training workshop on Advanced Intellectual Property Valuation in Badjao 1 and 2, Garden Orchid Hotel from February 27 to March 02, 2023. The workshop was aimed at capacitating our community on the importance of IP valuation and how it can be used to protect and maximize the value of our IP assets.

This workshop empowered the participants with the skills and insights needed to better understand the value of their intellectual property and leverage it for their technology’s growth and impact realization.

This activity is simultaneously conducted with the 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀.

Fifteen (15) Filipino inventors from Sulu and Zamboanga benefited from the first leg of INVENTouring, which resulted in an initial assessment of 𝟯 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 and about 𝟯𝟬 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀, which will all be endorsed to the 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 (iPRAP). Innovations that have IP filing qualify for the agency’s pre-commercialization assistance under 𝗚𝗔𝗟𝗶𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺. – “DOST-TAPI”
