WMSU-ATBI conducts an Incubatee Business Monitoring

WMSU-ATBI conducted a three-day incubatee business monitoring. This aimed to assess the current status of each business, gather data for business plan revisions, and provide targeted advice to enhance productivity and marketability.

The monitoring started with a visit to Maica’s Trading in Pamucutan. The team engaged with Mrs. Villaver to identify specific training needs to elevate business operations. They meticulously gathered data on business practices, financial health, and operational challenges, forming the foundation for revising the business plan. Later that day, the team proceeded to Cafelayan Lettuce Farm in Tulungatong. Here, Mr. Sereño sought advice on maintaining optimal lettuce production amidst hot weather conditions. The team provided technical recommendations, including adjustments in irrigation schedules, the introduction of shade nets, and organic mulching techniques to retain soil moisture and reduce heat stress on the plants.

On the second day, the team focused on Ruru Mushrooms in Divisoria. They conducted a thorough review of the farm and collected updated data on its operations, production rates, and financials to inform the revision of the business plan. This plan aims to introduce more efficient production methods and explore new market opportunities for Ruru Mushrooms.

The third day, the team visits Rodolfo Integrated Farm, NDCM Vermicast Manufacturing, Xavier’s Farm, and Siete Swerte. The team conducted interviews with the owners to gather current business data, which will be instrumental in crafting revised business plans. The discussions focused on marketing strategies and production techniques, especially for Oyster Mushroom Production. The team provided tailored advice on enhancing product visibility, leveraging digital marketing platforms, and optimizing production processes to meet market demands.

The three-day business monitoring concluded successfully, yielding valuable insights and actionable recommendations for each farm visited. By addressing specific training needs, offering technical advice, and gathering comprehensive data for business plan revisions, the team has laid a solid foundation for the sustained growth and prosperity of these agricultural enterprises. This initiative underscores the importance of continuous support and engagement with local businesses to foster a resilient and thriving agricultural sector in Zamboanga City.
